But aside from the usual spots that most tourists go to, there are also a few hidden gems around Paris that add to its diversity and unique culture.
France’s capital is not only known as the city of lights for its glittering tower but also for the many cabaret shows scattered around the city that has been around for centuries.
But aside from the Moulin Rouge and Lido Show, there is also Le Crazy Horse de Paris, a cabaret known by Parisians for their incredible stage shows featuring nude female dancers. It is also the only cabaret in the city to focus entirely on femininity. Here’s everything you need to know about this must-see adult attraction - Le Crazy Horse de Paris:
A little history
What now stands as the Le Crazy Horse Saloon in the Haussmanian building at 12 Avenue George-V was once a space filled with 12 wine cellars, all of which were knocked down to form the cabaret.
Since 1951, Alain Bernardin owned and operated the Crazy Horse Cabaret until he committed suicide in 1994. Bernardin’s children continued running the cabaret until 2005 when it changed owners.
The original venue was still known as “Le Crazy Horse de Paris” while Crazy Horse Paris was used for the venue at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The new Crazy Horse
After a change in management, the cabaret started featuring famous artists from around the world for exclusive and limited shows. Audiences enjoyed performances from Carmen Electra, Arielle Dombasle, Pamela Anderson and Dita Von Teese.
The cabaret even hired famous choreographer Philippe Decoufle for its performances. Although some of its dancers went on a strike in 2012 demanding higher pay, the shows continue on until today, attracting a huge crowd of Parisians and tourists alike.
What you can enjoy at the show
Although the Crazy Horse Cabaret has undergone several changes throughout the years, it still remains popular for its classically trained dancers, well-choreographed shows and stunning lighting and projection effects.
Today, visiting the cabaret would mean immersing yourself in its one-of-a-kind performances from legendary acts like Chantal Thomass and Dita Von Teese. In a show that lasts 90 minutes, you’ll be able to see the stunning artistry that made this cabaret the go-to venue for adult entertainment in the last 65 years.
Located on the same venue in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, the Crazy Horse Cabaret is just a few steps away from the Champs Elysees, Avenue Montaigne, and the Eiffel Tower, and it is a top attraction for regular tourists and even celebrities.
