The Attractions Every Traveller Visiting Sydney Must Explore

Sydney is enigmatic at every turn. It is one of Australia’s biggest, oldest and most beautiful cities, which is why it’s no surprise that millions of tourists come to experience it each year.

Sydney is a mix of the old and new, the traditional and modern, and it has something to please even the most discerning traveler. If you’re visiting the famous Australian city on your next holiday, make a pit stop to these four attractions:

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Locals call it “coathanger” and it has been Sydney’s most famous landmark before the Sydney Opera House was constructed. Built-in 1932, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is the largest steel arch bridge in the world connecting the north and south shores and rising 134 meters above the water.

If you’re an adventure junkie, make sure to book the Sydney BridgeClimb package where you can enjoy sweeping views of Sydney after a 3.5-hour climb to the 135-meter high summit on the outer arch of the bridge.

If you’re not brave enough for that long climb, you can also go for the 1.5-hour Sampler Climb or the 2.25-hour Express Climb.

Sydney Opera House

You can’t talk about Sydney without imagining the Opera House. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the symbol of the city and the main attraction across its glittering harbor.

The Opera House is an iconic architectural piece that is home to theaters, exhibition rooms, studios, a concert hall, and a cinema. You can also enjoy it from the outside while eating at one of the restaurants nearby or while you’re on a harbor cruise.

You can also book the Sydney Opera House Guided Walking Tour to get a backstage pass to the history and most important parts of this iconic landmark in Sydney.

Harbor Cruise

Most of Sydney’s attractions center around Circular Quay, which was built by convict labor in Sydney Cove. A lot of locals flock to the city’s main ferry terminal during peak hours, but it’s also a popular attraction for tourists who want to enjoy the city’s beautiful waterfront.

But one of the best ways to really enjoy Sydney is through a harbor cruise that passes through some of the city’s most iconic landmarks including the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Ferries on Circular Quay also depart for prime spots around town like the Taronga Park Zoo, Manly and Watsons Bay.

The Rocks

Known as Australia’s site for the first European settlement, The Rocks sits on a piece of land into the Sydney Harbor that was once the home of the Gadigal aboriginal people. This area got its name from the rocky coast where convicts built their tents.

Today, The Rocks is home to more than 100 heritage sites including Cadman’s Cottage, the oldest surviving house in Sydney that was built in 1816. You should also visit the Rocks Discovery Museum that tells the story of this area in the city.

Are you ready to explore stunning Sydney? Book a tour package with La Vacanza to enjoy a hassle-free trip.

Known as the city’s most iconic landmark, the Sydney Opera House dominates the city’s harbor with its distinctive white sails and unique architecture.Designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon, this multi-venue performance arts center became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2007. Today, it holds more than 1,500 performances each year attended by more than 1.5 million people. The Sydney Opera House is home to three resident companies, the Sydney Theater Company, Opera Australia and Sydney ...
