Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Omaha Beach, Avenue de la Liberation, Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer France

Omaha Beach was known to be the most difficult military objective when the invasion of Normandy was being planned. In order to be sure that the Allied forces took it the youngest and most foolhardy soldiers were assigned to it, most of them were American. You'll walk on the same sands as them and learn about their acts of heroism and sacrifice.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Overlord Museum - Omaha Beach, Rond-Point D'acces du Cimetiere Americain, Lotissement Omaha Center Rond-point d'accès du Cimetière Américain - Lotissement Omaha Center, 14710 Colleville-sur-Mer France

Operation Overlord was the code name given to the Allied Invasion of northwest Europe. This museum has an unequaled collection of military equipment that was used to either defend or attack the coast of Normandy. Such as a full-sized authentic Higgins boat, with its front flap down, and impressive Sherman and Panzer tanks.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Batterie Allemande de Longues-Sure-Mer, West of Arromanches-les-Bains, Longues-sur-Mer France

This German Battery has a fully intact Command Bunker and 3 other bunkers that are still armed with huge 150 mm guns today. You'll climb inside the bunkers with your guide and find out what happened on the morning of D-day from the Axis perspective. Learning about Rommel's defenses known as the "Atlantic Wall".

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Domaine de l’Hostréière, Rte du Cimetiere Americain, 14710 Colleville-sur-Mer, France

For lunch, you will stop at a mom-and-pop style restaurant such as the l'Hostéière. On the coast, there are no fancy restaurants. There are only little places with fresh local foods such as salads, omelets, barbecued meats, and crepes. We do not include your lunch in our tour price. You can pick whatever you want from the menu. Plan on spending 10-20€.

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Pointe du Hoc, 14450 Cricqueville-en-Bessin France

The Pointe-du-Hoc was a strategic German defensive point that had huge guns pointed towards both Omaha and Utah Beaches. On D-day, it was a top priority to capture. Here you will walk around huge bomb craters to the edge of a 110ft tall, seaside cliff. Learn how Rudders Rangers climbed it with rocket-powered grappling hooks and their bayonets.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Cimetiere Americain de Colleville-sur-Mer, 14710 Colleville-sur-Mer France

Here 9,388 white marble tombs stand in perfectly straight lines. You'll walk among the Crosses and Stars of David with your guide and pay your respects to those who sacrificed everything. You'll visit Medal of Honor winners and also the Niland brothers whose real-life story inspired the movie "Saving Private Ryan".

Duration: 1 hour

Stop At: Ferme de la Sapiniere, 12 route de Port en Bessin, 14710 Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer France

Before there was a war there were apple trees to tend in Normandy. The apple orchards in Normandy grow dozens of different varieties of apples and turn them into amazing apple juices, hard ciders, and strong liquor called Calvados. We had a great tour guide who had a masters in history from a college in France (Ms Brun sp?). She was engaging and shared much from the French perspective about WWII but always curious to hear our point of view. She also shared stories from her uncle who recently passed who was a WWII veteran of France. Tour sites visited included Pointe Du Hoc, Omaha beach, Overlord Museum and the American cemetery where we observed the 4pm flag ceremony which was emotional and worthwhile.. Although one day is short for this history rich tour, our guide made the most of it and that we appreciate.

We had an amazing time on our Normandy tour. It was a long day with a lot of time in the van, but that was necessary when you start from Paris. We got to see a wide variety of sites, all interesting and well worth the time and money.

If I could give the tour a 6 rating I would. If I could give the tour guide/Leader a 10 star review, I would. The skill, knoledge, friendliness and warmth he brings to this tour are unparalled. The specific tour sites and his narrative of each one's history was riveting. The sites are overwhelmingly vivid and real, the narrative extremely moving and emotional but never maudlin nor sentimental. No movie or book can ever approach the visceral gut-wrenching facts of touching and seeing all of this history in person. I am a changed person. My humility and admiration for the indiduals involved in this massive offensive is beyond measure. The beaches and bunkers and Arc du Bec are profoundly moving. The chapek and cemetary tour will buckle your knees. I found the museum displays overdone and unnecessarily show-y and extreme. I found them distasteful. However, the narration of events on placards was an outstanding summary of the years of history leading up to and covering the war years and I think the Museum ought to seriously consider assembling the text of all the placards and print them in the form of a pamphlet or brochure for sale or for free. I would have paid for it in an instant and so would others on my tour. If you possibly can, insist on H.P. as your tour guide. Be prepared to bring some extra pocket cash with which to tip him at the end. Believe me, you will want to. I had no cash with me and was sorry I didn't. If you are going with a WWII vet or the immediate family of one, whether from D Day or not, be prepared for an extremely touching, emotional experience. The cider tasting excursion was nice but felt superfluous and like unnecessary padding. I think it could easily be eliminated and get people bacck to Paris sooner in the day. I do wish we had been given more narrated history of the narrow winding roads through Normandy and the amazing ancient stone walls and stone farm buildings along the wayside

Wonderful tour. Matthew, our guide, spoke perfect English. He was expertly knowledgeable and friendly. He was the key to making this tour a memory to last a lifetime.
