Lofty, Dan and crew showed our family group of 16 an amazing kayaking experience. Our ages ranged from 9 years old to 80! The paddle in was leisurely with history stops along the way. We disembarked for a quick snack, drink and briefing for the twilight part of the paddle. I was impressed with how eco-friendly the snacks and drinks were; no footprint left except our own. The safety measures for the night paddle to view the glow worms were excellent. The crew were there to help and guide if you got a little stuck. The glow worm experience was incredible…. like paddling through Pandora!
Absolutely amazing! what an experience. For anyone visiting the area, I would highly recommend everyone to try this activity out!
The glow worm hunting was one of the top 3 things we’ve done in New Zealand (Milford Sound and Hobbiton were other 2). Thank you to Riverside Adventures - Waikato for an amazing evening. We couldn’t take photos of the glow worms because they hide from light. The rest of the tour was beautiful and the weather could not have been better, chilly but no rain or wind. After the sun went down, the moon was also down so we had clear star viewing and could even see the Milky Way. Dan and the other team guides were helpful and gave so much interesting information about the area, glow worms, and stars! We loved every minute. Highly recommended!
We did the glow worm tour and then rented e-bikes. We have done a lot of adventures all over the country and this one was right up there. Well organised, professional team. The booking agent was super helpful and responsive in planning the whole thing. Really enjoyed the experience.
