It was an amazing experience. Brought my family who visited from overseas, and they loved the experience, the culture, and the customs that was shared. Sharing of Kai and hearing stories about the ancestors

We attended the cultural experience last night and found it to be one of the best tours on our trip. We ate a delicious meal cooked with traditional methods, and enjoyed the cultural show and beautiful song. Our favourite part was learning more about Maori culture.

Fantastic experience for all ages. Sadly our “chief” from Manchester didn’t understand the importance of his job role and showed little respect for the process and performance, making inappropriate jokes and unable to construct a coherent response when asked to deliver a short speech as part of the theatre. Wish the host had taken steps to choose someone else. However, the set, atmosphere and dance depicted an accurate insight into Māori culture and it’s traditions. Each dance and song delivered with high energy and spirit (even though they do this every day, many times). Glow worm trail was sweet although please mention to tourists NOT to use their phone flash as their lights go out. Having been raised amongst Cook islanders, Rarotongans and the Māori community in the 70s/80s, I’ve had my fair share of Hāngī’s, (a traditional New Zealand Māori method of cooking food using heated rocks buried in a pit oven, called an umu). The offering was tasty and abundant, and was appreciated enormously by the end of the evening by both the adults and children. A great introduction into Māori tradition and culture. I hope these values continue down throughout the community and is embraced by its young. We will definitely return with friends next year. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.
