Decent tour to do to kill a day and see some sights. Unless you spend most of your day getting to explore each area alone it’s hard to feel like you’ve done all you wanted to do, but at least you got to see the main attractions. My favorite part of this tour was definitely seeing the Cliffs. Unfortunately, that was the least amount of time granted, with ~40 min to leave from the parking area to start the trail a ways up. The trail, which goes a few different directions for view points and can go the lengths of the cliffs. Only got to see some beginning view points and no time to stop at the shop without being late. I’m glad we had more time at the castle since I even felt running late there with all to walk around and see. Not enough time for both WWII tours if that’s what you want to see, but enough for one on their timed basis. Canterbury is probably a much more interesting place to visit if you know what you’re doing or where you’re going but we were dropped off and told to just be back in 2 hours. I wasn’t quite sure how to make it to the cathedral from there and got a little lost for awhile but found my way eventually, and apparently we were supposed to meet up there for group entry. Thankfully the lady whom worked there noticed what tour I was in from my email and let me in without much trouble. I explored it on my own and didn’t find much else outside of it to see for history, but again without a clue which ways to go (and little cell service on my part) I just stuck close and wandered around town to grab a drink and head back. Would’ve loved to see something more from Chaucer tales while I was there but didn’t seem like something that was close by to visit and make it back in time? Our guide was very knowledgeable about history and chatted to us on the bus there and back about our trip content or sites we were passing nearby, otherwise remained removed from the tour experience except for giving you some wrist bands. Lunch was hard to squeeze in without sacrificing time to see things so either bring snacks with you or plan to only eat at the end of the day (4pm or so) in Canterbury. I would recommend doing this tour during the spring or summer rather since the days are much longer to have sunlight, in Nov after daylight savings the sun is setting at 4:30pmish.

This is a packed trip around historic places. Pickup was smooth from a bus stop outside London Bridge Station. This is an excellent tour for history buffs, nature lovers if you want to cover a lot in a day. I like taking these day tours as English tour guides are excellent. Brendan, our tour guide and driver lived up to expectations. His knowledge was impeccable and he shared a lot. Canterbury Cathedral was magnificent and I learned quite a bit about English history and religion. 2 hours seemed a lot, but Canterbury Cathedral walk took over an hour, so not much time left to explore the town. I was only able to visit Canterbury Tales site. This was mostly independent tour, where you are dropped off to explore on your own. Tour guide, Brendan gives you excellent background information before you arrive. Dover Castle, another historic place, again 2 hours not enough to cover its huge grounds. It was Halloween weekend, so kids and parents made long lineups to visit tunnels. White Cliffs were beautiful, but wish could have time to hike longer than 20 min. Bring proper shoes, as hiking here can get messy with English weather. Overall, excellent trip, good service, very knowledgeable and professional guide. I will be coming back to Canterbury and Dover.

We only had a driver for our tour and no guide, so not very much information was available about the sites visited. Our driver tried to close the gap by sharing whatever information he could, but he definitely did not have the same depth as what a guide typically provides. We spent too long in Dover and not enough time in the very charming town of Canterbury. Cliffs of Dover segment of 40 or so minutes was not enough time to really complete the walks available and yet Dover Castle was a bit too long relative to the other time allocations. Bus is clean, pickup information is clear. Also, driver did not wear a mask even though Delta variant case counts are at very high levels in the UK. I have enjoyed much better experiences with other tour operators in the UK who provide a dedicated guide, not just a driver, and will not book Anderson Tours again.

We were rushed at Diver cliffs. 45 minutes was not long enough to get to the picture spot without rushing, and tgere are trails after that. The castle time should be reduced by 30 minutes and added to the cliffs. The bus had a terrible noise that spoiled the ride. Imagine loud crackling radio interference every couple of minutes m, sometimes lasting several minutes and making it difficult to understand wherever our driver/tour guide was telling us. Our driver told us that the company was aware of the problem, couldn’t figure why it was happening but STILL had the audacity to put us on it. There is no excuse for that He tried to be informative along the way but it’s not the same when you to to wear sound-cancelling headphones to block the crackling noises. Unfortunately he was recovering from a back injury so he couldn’t accompany us at our first two stops, It’s better to hear it on the spot, but we all need to accommodate each other’s health conditions when we can. It’s just that the sound on the bus made the accommodation impossible.

Great tour! Michel was a terrific guide filled with humor and knowledge of each site. The transportation was very comfortable and clean too.
