Overview

This Bike & Dine Tour is a unique outdoor experience you will remember for a long time. First, you will be taken on a relaxed, awesome bamboo bicycle adventure, riding on quiet backstreet paths. As the afternoon ends, night birds and insects will already play their symphony of jungle sounds.

At twilight, we return to have a delicious Thai dinner at a romantic outdoor restaurant, beautifully located on the river banks. Enjoy the excellent food while watching the river and the blinking lights of Bangkok across the water.

We can easily spend a few hours here. However, after you have digested your dinner a boat will be waiting for our river cruise. We know a special place where we may witness fascinating fireflies abundantly lighting up the sky. I never get enough of seeing these nightly creatures and like to share this experience with you.

We have fireflies year-round. However, when it is very windy, they might be harder to spot. Nevertheless, your tour will be unforgettable.

This was a last minute adventure we did on our last night of a 3-week trip. After already spending 2 nights in hot, humid and very busy Chinatown, we opted for this3.5 hour bike and nature tour that sounded like a good change of pace. The cab ride there was a little hectic as it was rush hour and took an hour to cover the 5.5 km. However we advised Aud our guide that we were running late and he waited the 10 minutes at the meeting point on the river. A few minutes later we were on a small wooden ferry with a nice young couple from Georgia on our way to a completely different Bangkok experience. We were quickly outfitted with suitable bikes and began meandering the narrow concrete paths through the jungle and rural homesteads of the island. The paths are a little narrow but no problem for those with very moderate experience. Keep an even pace and you will not have any problems. Aud pointed out various plants and we made our way into the park to feed the fish at the large pond. The park was quiet as it was a Friday night. The carp and tilapia gobbled up the bread we fed them so we moved onto the bird viewing tower. On the way, we saw two different water monitor, 5-foot long lizards and snapped some good pics. At the bird tower we didn’t see too many birds, but enough to keep our attention. The trees were cool to look at from up there and Aud snapped some more funny pics of our group on our bikes. We returned back to a house where we arrived by ferry and had a delicious homemade Thai dinner, with 2 kinds of soup, pad Thai, fried rice, cashew chicken and 2 other dishes. Topped off with mango rice for dessert, all with a riverfront view and last bits of sunset over the Bangkok skyline. Aud and his wife then took us out in a small riverboat and not more than 150 metres down the river, we pulled in close to the trees on the shoreline and got a half hour show of fireflies in the trees which was pretty cool. There were a few bats zooming through the twilight filling their bellies with fireflies I imagine but not scary at all. We got close enough to have a few fireflies in our hands and on our lifejackets. All in all, we were very happy with our choice with this tour. Aud and his wife and the island locals who made the dinner made it a unique experience of Bangkok that I didn’t think was possible in such a large, bustling city. From the minute we got on the boat, it felt like we had stepped into an urban oasis. Highly recommend this tour if you are looking for something different when in Bangkok.

The trip was amazing, the island on the other side of the Chao Praya was stunning.The food was really great, it felt like we were very welcome. The Guide (Sugar) was very funny, and helpfull with everything. Definately will do it again! The only minor thing were the bikes....two of us are quiet tall, so the bikes were too small. I recommend the owner of Bamboo bike tours to invest in new bikes. Overall a very nice experience which i can recommend to everyone!

Fantastic experience in the wilds of Bangkok! You wouldn’t know you were still in a big city. Great bike ride and excellent food with this lovely Thai family. Topped off by catching fireflies on the river. A highlight.

What an amazing experience!!! We'd highly recommend this tour and the friendly/knowledgeable people who are responsible for it. Riding a bike through the jungle, seeing fireflies on the river, an exceptional water-side dinner, what's not to like? Furthermore, we made a mistake on the dates and they went above and beyond to accommodate us last minute (thanks Som!) Even though you're still in the city it doesn't feel like it, very beautiful. Definitely one of the highlights of our trip, book it and you won't be disappointed!

Our favourite experience in Bangkok. Everything was amazing. We had a great tour guide Aud who took us on the best tour around the Green Lung. Stunning scenery and delicious homemade food at the end of the bike ride. Seeing the fireflies was an incredible experience. I can't recommend this enough.
