Our family of five with kids ages 6, 9, and 12 really enjoyed our time with William. We had a variety of cuisines and learned about the history of them as well. William is very friendly and knowledgeable. He clearly loves his work and wants to be sure that you enjoy yourself while learning and experiencing something new. He is very attentive and caters the tour and food selections to your group. My 6 year old spent the tour hand-in-hand with William and loved exploring with him. Highly recommend!

We spent a lovely day with our guide, William, exploring the food culture and food history of Singapore. We have lived in Singapore for a while, so this was a great way to get a deeper understanding of the hawker culture, explore some new restaurants we haven't been to before, and walk around this beautiful city with a guide who loves and appreciates Singapore. We went with our 14-year-old son and he loved it too, as he is quite adventurous with food and was happy to try it all. I'd recommend an afternoon with William, as he is kind, knowledgeable, and knows where to find delicious Malay, Chinese, and Indian eats!

Trained local guide: Hard to hear, only loud enough for one person standing uncomfortably close to be able to hear 7 food tastings from 3 different cuisines: True 3 drink tasting from 3 different cuisines: True Private Tour - Only your travel party & your guide: Save your money and go on the bike tour, you learn way more and find better food for WAY LESS than this Make on-the-spot changes to the tour: Tour change requested at the start (we were asked if we wanted any changes) and asked to skip one area and spend more time in another. This was not done even when asked again. We were ready to be done before the 2nd stop. Local tips & recommendations: Some useful information to be sure, you can get all of it on the bike tour. All in all, this was a terrible enough experience for us to take the time to leave a review. Unfortunately we cannot request a refund.

Before you book, you should know that you are not going to visit 10 different food spots and receive 10 different tastings. You will visit 3 stops and receive 2 dishes (1 being an appetizer) and 1 drink at each stop. It doesn't come out to 10 but close enough. All the dishes we tried were amazing. Even though my boyfriend and I shared our dishes, we were definitely SO FULL by the end of the tour. The tour includes needing to take the MRT so beware that you are expected to pay for that yourself. Although we had a great time and our tour guide was informative, we felt like this was really pricey for what we got. On average, a plate of food is about S$6, and appetizer S$3, and a drink is about S$2. Again, we shared our dishes/appetizers so food/drinks cost a total of S$30 so that's about USD$20. The total cost of this activity was nearly USD$200 for a total of 2 people, and we had to pay for our own MRT fees. The tour was about 1.5 hours and so I'm not super happy about the price. You're telling me that I basically paid someone $180 to walk me to 3 spots in Singapore for 1.5 hours? I paid a tour $70 total for 2 people for a 4 hour bike ride that included beverages. This activity definitely needs to lower it's rate considering how much of it is really spent on food.

William was a wonderful tour guide. It was just me and he took time to show me places to visit in town, how to get there, and provided insightful information about the history of Singapore along with the food tastings. There was so much food I was stuffed by the end!! We started with a traditional Malaysian breakfast (so much food) and dessert, then traveled to Little India to get a variety of flavors of breads, dipping sauces, another dessert and interesting drink, and ended the tour in China Town tasting spring rolls and dumplings near the Buddha Relic Temple. I think he would have kept feeding me if I could eat more. Ha! Along with all the food, William was thoughtful and kind. I got lost finding him so he asked me to wait and he came to get me. He kept in contact via WhatsApp before the tour and when I got lost too. He was very patient with me when I asked lots of questions. He also gave me some post cards of places to visit in Singapore, a really nice (and unexpected) keepsake. As a first generation Singaporean, and 70 years old, he was super knowledgeable about the country and how it came to exist as we know it today. I asked many questions and he was happy to answer them with honesty. If you don’t mind spending a little more on a private tour, the food and information was really good. Note: Bring a few extra Singapore dollars bc you’ll have to purchase your own metro card and fare to the different stops (about $5 Singapore dollars needed per person).
