Sydney Harbour Bridge

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Rising majestically 134-meters above the water, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is the largest steel arch bridge in the world that connects the harbor’s north and south end on a single curve.

It was the most popular attraction in Sydney before the Opera House was constructed, but it continues to be a must-visit for tourists visiting the city.

Locals call the Sydney Harbour Bridge as “coathanger” and huge double piers support it at each end. Two railway lines and eight lanes run through the bridge to help with the city’s traffic. In 1992, an additional harbor tunnel was added to help ease the congestion on the bridge itself. Tourists looking for a good adventure can book the BridgeClimb where they can do a 3.5-hour climb up the summit of the bridge and enjoy spectacular views of the city. 1.5-hour Sampler Climbs and 2.25-hour Express Climbs are also available for the not-so-brave travelers to try.
