Phang Nga Bay
Anyone who travels to Phuket will never miss the chance to see beautiful Phang Nga Bay. The 400 square-kilometer bay is composed of 42 islands and located between the island of Phuket and the Kra Isthmus mainland.
The bay has several collapsed cave systems, archaeological sites, and limestone cliffs that attract thousands of tourists each year.
Phang Nga Bay is home to a rich marine, animal and bird population. Over 28 species of mangrove thrive in the area as well as rich coral reefs and seagrass beds.
The bay is also home to at least 88 species of birds including the endangered Asiatic dowitcher and Malaysian plover, 17 mammal species, 19 reptiles, and three amphibians. The Phang Nga Bay Marine National Park was declared a protected Ramsar Site in 2002.
But what really made Phang Nga Bay known to the world is the needle-shaped limestone rock in the sea that is now called James Bond Island after it was featured in “The Man with the Golden Gun.”
The bay was also used as the main background for planet Kashyyyk in the movie “Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.”
There is definitely to explore and experience on the Phang Nga Bay, so booking a tour with La Vacanza is the best way to go.
