Phi Phi Islands
If you’ve been mesmerized by the stunning beach and limestone rocks in Leonardo di Caprio’s movie “The Beach,” you should never miss the chance to see this piece of paradise up close by heading to Phi Phi Islands.
Located southwest off the Krabi coastline, Phi Phi Islands is a dream come true for many tourists because of how unbelievably stunning this place is.
The largest island, Phi Phi Don, offers the perfect getaway with its white-sand beaches, hidden coves, and beautiful limestone cliffs. It is also a great spot for diving and snorkeling with its rich marine life.
But if you’re looking for the exact spot from the movie, head to Phi Phi Le, which is the most visited among the islands because of its steep limestone cliffs that look like they came out of the water.
The island also has several coves, bays perfect for snorkeling and the famous Viking Cave that contain prehistoric paintings. Phi Phi Le is also famous for nesting swifts where locals collect nests used to create the Chinese delicacy bird’s nest soup.
Ko Mai Phai or Bamboo Island, Bida Nok and Bida Nai complete the Phi Phi islands, all of which are accessible only by longtail boats or speedboats tours that are available in Krabi town or Phuket.
