My two sisters and I did a half day tour with Alan in October. Alan was prompt, courteous, and so much fun. We felt like he was a long-lost family member. We laughed so much that day. And the sites were great. There is just something about the Yorkshire moors, that moody mist and sheep-dotted hills. . . Perfect. I highly recommend a tour with this company, and Alan's company was a bonus. We'd do it again in a heartbeat.

We started from the York railway station, where we were picked up a little ahead of schedule. We then spent the next several hours on a fantastic tour of some of the wonderful sights and history of Yorkshire! Our guide Alan, who is a native of the area with thorough knowledge of the land and its history both recent and remote, was simply excellent. He was flexible, paced the day well for our 3-generation family group, provided an almost continuous stream of interesting insight into the things and places we encountered, and was happy to answer anything we thought to ask. This is a superb way to make a day trip from London and see a sample of York, the moors, and a bit of the world that gave us James Herriot stories (a man he knew, by the way). It would also be a great way to get an overview of the area at the beginning of a longer stay.
