We utterly enjoyed our walk with Lloyd's expert guidance. Lloyd knows the country like the back of his hand and shared all the interesting history of the land, vegetation and the township. Never a dull moment and not forgetting the breathtaking lunch spot we were treated to! The natural beauty of NZ is unbeatable and we were totally in awe. Thank you for a memorable day!
Amazing day, scenery is spectacular, highly recommended it. Best lunch spot in new Zealand and very tasty.
This walking tour has been a highlight of our year so far. My wife and I had a FANTASTIC Day out with our guide Neil. He was extremely knowledgable about the area, entertaining us with stories from the past, geological facts and figures, information on farm operations, and pointing out a variety of different aspects of natural beauty found throughout West Wanaka Station. We greatly appreciated his company. The area is without doubt absolutely stunning. The views up the Matukituki Valley into Mt. Aspiring NP are breathtaking, not to forget the view across Lake Wanaka itself. We would happily do this walk again!
Mark looked after us for a wonderful day. We were picked up from home for the surprisingly short drive to West Wanaka station. The views on the walk are stunning. We stopped at a lookout for morning tea where we were able to see most of the lake. You can walk as much as you want or ride in the 4wd for a few sections making the walk accessible for everyone. Absolutely recommended even if you have lived in Wanaka for years!
What an amazing day. We were met by Mark in Wanaka town and drove to West Wanaka station ready for great day but unprepared for such astonishing views and natural beauty. This is walk for people who like being in natural vast spaces who don't need or want anything more. We saw a Kea at close range on the way and enjoyed a delicious picnic lunch and then explored the ruins of one of the first settlements in Wanaka which are part of the Station down by the lake. It was a brilliant day and all of our family enjoyed it. The walk isn't too arduous (our youngest is 12) and not to long (14 ish km) and well worth it. Definitely recommend.
