This was the second trip into the caves that we did, and it was worthwhile doing the two. This one is much more about the glow-worms and the silence of the caves. In the boat trip it is quite fascinating to see these pointless creatures! The trip is well guided by knowledgable people and who make it fun. There is slight annoyance at not being able to take photos, but to be honest, most cameras wouldn't see much other than meaningless spots of light!

Excellent tour of the caves and explanation of rock formations and glow worms. Friendly staff. Smooth operation. Good value. A moving experience. Non slip shoes required.

I want to give two ratings, one being 1/5 stars as the tour guide Glen made the whole experience unenjoyable. He kicked us off the tour just before the boat trip (the best part) as he asked us to guarantee our 2-year-old would be quiet before getting on the boat (even though many kids were on the tour and making noise). He kicked us off the tour as he said noise would ruin the glow worm experience and the glow worms do not like noise and kids can ruin the experience (Why sell family tickets then? Shouldn't this be made known when purchasing?). Up until that point the tour had been very serious, and not an enjoyable experience at all. At one point another member of the group told him on behalf of the group the 2-year-old was welcome but he insisted we leave and left us to navigate the dark return to earthside through the caves with a 2 year old and 5 year old on our own. As we were leaving, we met Max an employee who asked us why we were leaving the way we were and after hearing what had happened, took us for a private tour on the boat. We since learned that the glow worms light up even brighter when noise is made so Glen's reason for kicking us out was not truthful. Interestingly, my 2 year old did not make a peep the whole boat trip so there you go the whole thing was unnecessary. Max made the trip into a 5 star experience for us and the kids and his great customer service and friendliness made the trip worth it. My advice is if you do go with children do not go with Glen. Ask for one of the other tour guides especially Max, he is the type of employee who makes a business successful and tours enjoyable.

Tour was just less than 45 minutes. Spent at least half the time being shown the caves on foot and some of it felt as if time-filling. Luckily shown the Glowworm threads then as you see little else. You only see a small area on the boat so disappointing. They really ought to show a video to give more detail as the glow works are so small you only see the lights and little else. My wife and I had both seen this on TV before coming we both agreed the TV was far better.
