The Palace of Versailles is something to behold for all first time visitors to Paris. This tour gets you up close with this magnificent place and explains French history in a very digestible way. We were looking for a fast paced tour that explained what we were looking at and we got it. Our tour guide, Anne, is French but she spoke English as if it was her first language. She picked us up outside the gates and walked us into the Palace bypassing the lines. She walked fast which was fine by us but could have been difficult if any of our group of 15 people weren't fit enough. There is a lot of walking. The audio devices we were issued worked well so we didn't have to stand next to Anne to hear every word. The whole tour took 2 hours and we were very satisfied.

We had the most amazing experience with Gabriella from La Vacanza Travel who gave us a fantastic tour of Versailles. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the place and the people who ruled it and lived within it. She speaks with much passion and her positive energy passed on to everybody on the tour. I would highly recommend her and this tour in particular.

It was worth it to pay a little extra to skip the line outside Versailles. We were incredibly lucky to visit the palace during September as it was relatively empty and due to COVID, there were no tour buses and floods of people in sight as would usually be the case.

All in all, the tour of the entire palace took a total of 1 hour and 35 minutes as scheduled. Gabriella met us at the ticket center just a 5 minute walk away and walked us to the palace where we proceeded to line up in our ‘skip the line’ line, show our vaccination certificates and go through security (similar to the airport).

After the tour, there are food and beverage options at the palace facing the gardens for a nice lunch or a spot of tea. Overall; this was a fantastic experience coming from Malaysia with a great interest in Versailles and it’s role French history. I would recommend La Vacanza Travel and Gabriella to my family and friends looking to visit the palace.

This tour was perfect. We took the train ourselves to Versailles (be sure to buy your return ticket when you depart). Arrived around 9:30 AM, got a Starbucks right next to the office for our 10 am tour check-in, which is also directly across the street from the station when you exit. You can't miss this meeting point. Our group was about 30, and we walked about 10 mins up to the street to Palace entrance. After waiting only a few mins, we were inside. Guide had audio sets for all, so we could hear throughout. If you are debating whether to do this on your own, like I did, I really recommend you book with this type of group. It's not hard to get there on your own and meet up with the group. Having the extra context was very valubale to what we were seeing. So glad we didn't do the palace's own audio tour. The whole experience was about 1.5 hours which was great because we didn't want to spend all day.

Well worth it- although the palace wasn’t busy when we arrived it was quick, easy access. Our guide,Ailllette was charming, friendly and knowledgeable. A truly wonderful experience despite the cold wet weather
