My daughter and I absolutely recommend doing this cooking class with Putu! This was the nicest meal I ate in Bali and we ate at a lot of upper class restaurants. All ingredients are grown on Putu’s organic farm, including the oil they use, the rice, potatoes, all herbs and spices and the chickens we ate. The meal left you feeling nourished. I wish I could eat like this everyday. It was so much fun cooking with my daughter and Putu and her neice. I loved this experience and I can’t wait to return to Bali to do it again. Highly recommend this experience. Worth every cent.

We had such an amazing and authentic time with Putu, and we were honoured to be invited into her home. Putu and her family grow almost all of the ingredients for your meal at their farm, including the chicken, and Putu is an excellent chef and teacher. She is patient and kind, and we were blessed to have gotten to know her today.

One of a kind experience to learn about family traditions and how to cook traditional Balinese cuisine with all fresh ingredients from the family’s farm. You should come hungry here, the food you cook is so delicious!!

What a treat it was to spend an afternoon with Butu and her family. Their family compound is so interesting as she explains her family history and her home. Butu speaks English well. Once you have seen her garden, she starts her cooking course, which all I can say is very inspirational. She explains all the ingredients that we will be cooking with (which all comes from their family farm). The instruction is easy to follow and a lot of fun to do. After you are all done, you sit down and have one of the best Balinese meals we have had. Just come and have one of the best afternoons in Ubud.

I could not recommend this wonderful and personal experience with Putu and her family enough, Putu greeted us with an open heart, sharing her home and temple, guiding us through her beautiful Hindu religion and lifestyle. We walked through her family farm whilst she proudly identified her crops, all that you see in the photos came from her garden loving tendered by her husband Pasta (as in spaghetti, you'll get it when you go). Supported by her niece Kadek we then began our culinary journey into the world of Balinese cooking. The kitchen setting in Putu's garden was a delight, still surrounded by lush gardens, rosters and chickens roaming freely it made me realise how simple things need to be. From double cooked rice with sweet potato to the best double cooked chicken satay it was something that needs to be experienced, the detail that Putu offers to prepare these wonderful dishes was beyond reproach. This is a must for those you wish to learn these refined cooking skills, Putu provides not only her recipes but the process to recreate these wonderful dishes in your own home. Thank you Putu, I wish you and your family well and look forward to the day I return to learn more. Suksma Putu, Kim & Jen
