Overview

Here at The Dough House we create warm, homely experiences where you can learn how to cook or bake, share some fun with your friends and family or celebrate a special occasion. Best part of our job is creating memorable experiences for our guests. Whichever you fancy, an afternoon tea, ravioli or sourdough bread and pastry experience...

Because we are The Dough House, stars of this experience are flatbread and Aegean doughnuts! We will make our bread and pastry from scratch all by hand. Aegean doughnuts (loukomadies) are citrusy fried or baked sourdough balls served with honey syrup. After that we will make 6 different types of mezes:

*Greek meatballs, chicken skewers and spicy prawn casserole.
*Turkish aubergine shakshuka, tomato and walnut salad, lentil balls.

Some extra mezes will be served like homemade tzatziki, spicy chips and hummus accompanied with a glass of Greek Mojito or wine, a total Aegean feast!

A vegetarian menu is also available, please message us for the details).

What a great evening! Fulden is a great teacher - relaxed, informative and fun. There were 6 participants on the Friday evening class we attended - after introductions we got started on making our flatbreads and then onto the most amazing sweet doughnuts which we ate as soon as they were cooked - a great idea as these kept us going until the savoury food was ready and we would not have had room to eat them after eating the savouries! We worked as a group to create a number of other dishes. The ingredients were top quality and the smells and flavours amazing. We finished cooking around 8pm (having started at 5pm) and then all sat around the table with Fulden to share the food we had made. There was far too much for us to finish, so we shared the leftovers into the pots provided by Fulden, and enjoyed them the following day for lunch. A really enjoyable evening of cookery and delicious food. Will definitely be going back to do another of the courses.

My mum and I took Fulden's meze class and we can't recommend it more! We learned how to make flatbread, dolma, shakshuka, lentil balls (my favourite!), tomato walnut salad, baklava, as well as many useful tricks which we will be incorporating into our cooking. But besides learning how to cook, it was really a wonderful experience in a beautifully decorated setting. Fulden is so welcoming, knowledgable and extremely kind. We also got to bring home so much delicious food that we made, as well as the sourdough bread starter (we promise to take care of it and feed it regularly). The day after the class we actually made some flatbread and tomato sauce for shakshuka... We will definitely be back for more classes!
