This is a unique opportunity to visit a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Colin (or his equally passionate colleague when Colin is not available) hosts this experience in a cooking studio located inside a bicycle tour shop. You will pass through bicycles before entering the well-lit, perfectly organized cooking studio space, colorfully decorated with pastel pots and a mural. During your 1.5 hour hands-on Singapore cooking class, learn to make 2-3 Singaporean dishes. You can expect a hands-on experience with your host demonstrating some of the steps before giving you a chance to try everything yourself. A few dishes that you might cook together are Hainanese chicken rice, ngoh hiang (minced meat and vegetables and wrapped in bean curd) and Nyonya kueh dadar, a pandan flavored crepe with freshly grated coconut.
On days that Colin is not available, his colleague Denise will host your cooking lesson. Please NOTE the menu might vary. If you are keen to try a particular dish, for example, Nyonya Laksa, please include your request in the booking form - otherwise, your host will choose a menu based on seasonal ingredients available.
