Tulamben diving is a water activity that will make your holiday special. Tulamben is a small village in Bali, located in the northeast area. The area has black sand with smooth rocks. Because of the gentle current and waves, this located is ideal for diving. There are several diving spots there, but most tourists like visiting the Coral Garden and USAT Liberty Wreck. On each location, you have 30 minutes to 40 minutes to explore the areas. Depending on the diving operators, you can generally enjoy two times diving time. The package includes a professional guide as well as safety equipment. It even includes a pickup service from the hotel at 8 AM.

Diving here can be done by beginners accompanied by professional instructors

What Can You Expect?

If you consult this diving operator, you can enjoy the most popular spots of Coral Garden and USAT Ship Wreck. Each spot has its own unique features and characteristics. The ship wreck, for instance, is fully covered with different kinds of corals. Around 400 fish species live in the corals, creating an impressive natural habitat. If you come to the Coral Garden, you will find different kinds of corals and also fish, including snappers, Frogfish, Ribbon Eels, Scorpionfish, and much more. You are given 30 minutes to 40 minutes exploration for each spot – which should be enough for your Tulamben diving.

    Riko picked us up from our ubud hotel and broke up the drive by stopping at an incredible coffee roastery. He was kind and professional! Then we did the coral reef dive and shipwreck dive. The shipwreck dive was the best! Our dive master was very attentive and knowledgeable. They offer pictures from you dive for a little extra $ and it is worth it!

    The dive was an amazing experience leg by Lee and Made. Lee has over 30 years experience diving so I felt very confident diving alongside him as someone who never dived before. And Made took amazing photos of me and my parter. Would highly recommend this for new divers to see the coral and sea life along with the shipwreck. We also had private transportation as a option and was picked up from ubud by Riko who was super friendly, efficient, and communicative.

    We had a lovely drive from Ubud. We learned about the Balinesian culture and shared our own. When we arrived at the dive shop we were fitted for equipment, discussed our dive experience, previewd the dive, then walked across the street to the beach. Equipment was ready and waiting. We geared up, tested the equipment, and got into the water. Every step of the way, the dive master explained what we're going to see and do. He was very patient and helpful. The USS Liberty is only ~40 meters off shore. We saw turtle, octopus, many varieties of coral and fish. Although it was raining and sea a little rough, the visibility was really good. We went around the whole ship. On the 2nd dive we went into and around the cargo holds. The entire trip was great and highly recommended!

    Our driver Septa was right on time to pick us up in Ubud. The drive to the dive site was 2 hr and 15 min. We were greeted by our Dive Instructor who refreshed us with the dive hand signals. I was a little nervous since it’s been 5 years since my last dive but our instructor reassured me. I liked that our group size was just my husband and myself with the dive instructor. The weather at the time was raining and I didn’t think the waters would be clear enough to see but it was good. Our instructor helped us slowly get to the bottom around 20 meters. The shipwreck was cool and so were the fish and critter life of turtles, octopus and trumpet fish.
