Overview

Milford Sound is arguably the most scenic destination in New Zealand and a must-see for any traveller. Whether seen in sunshine or rain, the incredible views are guaranteed to leave you awestruck. This is a small group tour for travellers seeking an all-inclusive, uniquely-kiwi, personalized trip to Milford Sound.

We keep things personal using our fleet of modern Mercedes vans. Enjoy your journey with only 16 people, in a vehicle with premium features such as leather seats, panoramic scenic windows, Wi-Fi and Spotify.

Let your Altitude Tours guide entertain you with in-depth knowledge of the area, as we travel from Queenstown through Te Anau and into the Fiordland National Park on the famous Milford Road. Enjoy many scenic photo stops at both famous locations, as well as our guide's favourite off-the-beaten-track spots.

Enjoy a 2-hour small uncrowded cruise while taking in the incredible beauty that Milford Sound has to offer! You can also add on a picnic lunch to enjoy onboard.

We went on a day after rain with snow on the peaks. The views were amazing and there were plenty of temporary waterfalls. Our driver/tour guide pointed out interesting sights along the way (after the sun had risen). A stop in Te Anau on the way for some coffee was appreciated. We had ordered the lunch which turned out to be quite good and had all sorts of treats! The cruise was absolutely wonderful! The one sad part was seeing one of the seals with a lure stuck in his lip. Hopefully it will rust itself off quickly.

We had prepared for a long day and had ordered the picnic lunch which made things very easy. (Great lunch!) We went on a day after rain with snow on the peaks so the views were spectacular. Our driver/tour guide was wonderful, giving us some funny stories about Kea birds and their antics (though they were allusive that day), the various areas we were driving through, and pointed out some interesting items along the way.

Neville was a brilliant host - very friendly and welcoming, and very entertaining. He gave us a lot of detail about New Zealand, the South Island, Queenstown, and the various fjords. We loved all the stops along the way - really made the experience.

The first thing I'd like to mention is that our guide Sinchan was great! It wasn't an easy job to get people in a good mood after a 6:30 AM pick-up in cold weather, but he persisted and succeeded! He had great help, the views were amazing, making the road trip a good part of the experience and, of course, the cruise itself was beautiful! All in all a great experience. 👍
