Stop At: Rue Etienne Marcel, Etienne Marcel, Paris France

Meet your guide and small group at the Etienne Marcel metro station in Paris, where you'll begin your tour of the best of French regional gastronomy. Before starting the tour, we'll show you one of our favorite places in Paris, before heading to a charming local bakery, in typical French style, with a buttery croissant. Learn about how these specialties are made, along with traditional breads. Your guide will pick up some baguettes here to enjoy later in the tour.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Rue Montorgueil, 75001 Paris France

The Les Halles quarter of Paris is traditionally known as ‘the belly of Paris.’ Once home to the huge, teeming food market that fed the city each day, it remains today a mecca for food lovers, the streets lined with specialty food stores, restaurants, cafés and kitchen supplies. Join the local Parisians as they shop for their daily groceries, and take a stroll along its most animated street, the rue Montorgeuil, stopping along the way at favorite boutiques. Savor tasty artisan cheeses from across France in a traditional, local fromagerie. Then it’s time for a visit to the oldest (and possibly most beautiful) patisserie in Paris, founded by the baker to Queen Marie in 1730 - also the inventor of the ‘Baba au rhum’. Winners of several awards, including Best Chocolate Eclair, choose your favorite pastries to be savored later over lunch. The last stop is a traditional charcuterie, where you'll try speciality cured hams and meats.

For the cooks among you, particularly pastry lovers, don’t miss the wonderful suppliers of kitchenware and ingredients, including one of the oldest supply stores in Paris.

Caroline, our guide, was excellent. An education on French life not just food. Charming did a wonderful job of connecting with our group. What a pleasure.

Guide was personable and nice. Tour was great with excellent tastings of pastries, bread, cheese. I feel the potions were not adequate for the price of tour. Had to share parties and charcuterie was only some sliced salami. Experience could be greatly improved with additional meats and Tate meats and cheese together (with wine option)

This tour is a must do! We had a fantastic experience and you get a lot of food/wine. A croissant to start, a generous cheese plate to share with the others on your small tour, charcuterie, 2 gourmet chocolates, an eclair or two maracons, and wine tasting with more bread, cheese and charcuterie for lunch that the guide buys along the way. And it was a small group. We felt like we had an experience we wouldn’t have had on our own.

This is the best food tour I have ever been on! Not only do you get to taste so many different types of French food but you also have breakfast, lunch and a wine tasting. We met our fantastic guide Caroline at 10.30 and after a short tour we arrived at a small bakery where we had a typical French breakfast with coffee and French pastries. The croissant I had was so delicious you could really taste the butter. You could also see where the baker made the bread and pastries. After breakfast we moved on to a really famous patisserie and our guide told us about the history of the place and then we got to taste a yummy mini eclair and choose a dessert for later. Next it was time for the chocolate stop and there were so many to choose from. Now it was time for some savoury food and our guide took us to a beautiful cheese shop which had 100s of cheeses displayed in their window. Our fourth stop was in a restaurant where we tried a selection of their home made pates, hams, sausages and to top it off, foie gras!! The tour ended in a small wine bar where we tasted 3 glasses of wine while the sommelier explained the different types of wine, their tastes and where they were made. The wine was accompanied by a lunch that the guide had bought at the places we had visited during the tour. The tour was so enjoyable because our guide, Caroline, was fun, friendly and passionate. Each place we visited and each food we tried was accompanied by stories that linked the food with the French culture and history. Definitely Money Well Spent! Thank you so much Caroline and Memories.

It was even more than we expected. Jessica, our tour guide, was informative about the food and wine and included enjoyable tidbits on the history of how the foods many of the foods were introduced to France.
