Stop At: Fondation Claude Monet, 84 Rue Claude Monet, 27620 Giverny France

You will be driven from Paris to Giverny, in the comfort of an air-conditioned minibus, where you will start your day with the

There you will discover the famous gardens created by the most famous of the Impressionist painters often referred to as the father

You will enjoy the sight of the well-known Japanese bridge in the midst of its flowered paths and wather-lily ponds, and the house,
with its pink crushed brick façade, where the leader of the Impressionist School spent 43 years from 1883 until his death in 1926.

After a morning spent in one of this most inspirational settings, you will head off to the banks of the Epte River where you will
have lunch at the lovely “Moulin de Fourges” restaurant, a 200-year-old mill. The architecture of this listed site, dating back to
the 18th century, draws its inspiration from hamlet of Marie-Antoinette at Versailles.

Wonderful small group visit to Giverny and Versailles, with nice rest stop between the 2 places for lunch at an old mill. The small group experience (there were 12 of us) was well worth the extra cost. Both our driver and tour guide were wonderful and took good care of us. Our tour guide (I believe her name was Michelle) was a wealth of information, and her enthusiasm was contagious. My favorite place was Giverny - a must-visit. Versailles was over-crowded (NOT the fault of the tour), and I wish we had more time to enjoy the gardens there. However, all said and done, I'm glad we were able to visit both sites in one day.

Perfect group size. The lunch was amazing! The tour guide did a great job. I would recommend. Note those with limited mobility might need more time to get around at destinations that this tour allows.

This excursion had something for both of us - my third trip to Paris and my husband’s first. Our guide Michael was enthusiastic and supportive of my limited mobility. He managed, at the last minute, to secure a wheelchair so that I could enjoy the tour of the apartments at Versailles. Despite it being the middle of October, the gardens at Giverny were still full of blooms. Lunch was amazing. And our small group of 5, were very compatible (would that La Vacanza Travel could control that!)

Giverny was gorgeous. Lunch was excellent. Versailles was gorgeous, too — but we ran out of time. The guide’s tour of the rooms was too long — he gave much too much detail and frequently repeated himself — so that when we were “released” to visit the gardens, we only had 20 minutes. We should have been given the option of doing the interior with or without the guide, which would have allowed us to head to the gardens on our own schedule. Possible source of the problem: the tour, advertised as ten hours, only lasted nine. Had we had the extra hour for the gardens, the tour would have been perfect.
