Overview

The beauty of a private driving tour is the flexibility it gives you to see the sights which interest you the most.  We have a recommended route but the itinerary is totally flexible so if you would prefer to spend longer in a place you like or add an attraction which interests you then we can accommodate you.

Our private tours last seven hours and can start and finish at the location of your choice.  The starting time for the tour is flexible and we can collect you from anywhere in the Northern Cotswolds area including Oxford and Stratford-upon-Avon.  The tour is ideal for a day trip from London and the most cost/time effective option is to take a direct train from London Paddington to Oxford station.

If you have any questions about transfers from outside of the Northern Cotswolds then please send us an message.

There were five of us in our group, ranging in age from 69 to 81. We scheduled 3 days with Ian Mowbray Williams. He met us at our rental digs in Bath with a very comfortable minibus, and took us to our next rental in Bourton on the Water. Along the way and for the next two days we visited National Trust properties and toured villages. He made our time together just wonderful, always being patient with last-minute changes and offering very interesting commentary. Because we had a private tour, he worked with us in advance to tailor our time to fit our interests and needs. He was respectful, professional, and a joy to be with. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for the best possible way to see the Cotswolds.

We booked a full day tour with Ian, and couldn’t have been happier with the experience. Our Cotswolds trip wouldn’t have been as complete without the tour of the towns and small villages. Ian was knowledgeable, flexible, and a joy to have as our guide. We hope to be back next year, and would happily book the same tour!

We had a lovely day with Ian exploring the Cotswolds. He has a wide knowledge of local history, great stories and way to tell them. We asked him in advance to tailor a tour for us according to our itinerary and everything was just perfect. He is flexible and helpful, a real hospitality professional.

We are from the US and my wife and I wanted to take my mother to visit her mother's grave in Buckland. Ian from Undiscovered Cotswalds picked us up after a morning tour of the Bodleian Libraries, and took us on a wonderful tour of the Cotswalds, which included a stop for lunch at a village pub along with the requested stop in Buckland. Ian is very personable and easy to chat with, making us feel immediately comfortable spending time with him on our afternoon journey. His knowledge of the Cotswalds is extensive, interesting, and fun. You can tell he loves the place. He was very accommodating of our requests, even dropping us off at the Turf Tavern at the end of the day and waiting with my mom in the car while we made sure they had a table for us. We spent a week in London and our day with Ian driving though the countryside outside Oxford was one of the highlights.
