Not for nothing is the world-famous timber bridge Lucerne’s most photographed destination, it being held in high esteem by visitors and residents in equal measure. Together with the Water Tower, the bridge forms a landmark in the townscape like no other attraction.

Stop At: Lion Monument, Denkmalstrasse 4, Lucerne 6006 Switzerland
Carved in stone, yet deceptively alive – Lucerne’s world-famous Lion Monument has been impressing visitors from near and far for very many years. The imposing stone lion, however, is more than “just” a monument. Depending on your point of view, it can be seen as a commemoration, a work of art or a memorial. And as a proud landmark of the city of Lucerne.

Stop At: Musegg Wall, Lucerne 6006 Switzerland
We will walk on top of Musegg Wall from where you can enjoy the best views over the city. Once a symbol of power, the Musegg Wall and its nine towers are part of Lucerne's historic fortifications; forming a striking crown around the Old Town, the wall can be discerned from afar.

We will take the elevator up to Gütsch castle, a historic luxury hotel from where you can enjoy excellent view over Lucerne. A ticket for the elvator costs 2.50 CHF and is not included.

Opeing hours permitting, we will visit the Jesuit Church from inside. Radiant in its beauty, recognisable from afar: situated next to the River Reuss, it is a treat for the eyes.

The Church of St. Mary in the heart of the Franciscan Monastery was erected between 1270 and 1280 by Franciscan monks, who occupied the site in Lucerne until 1838. The building's medieval architecture is typical of that favoured by this mendicant order of monks.

We will walk over Spreuer Bridge built in 1408. Its name comes from the word «Spreu», meaning chaff: the town's flour mills were permitted to dump their waste into the River Reuss from this bridge.
