After an amazing stay at the museum l couldn’t not write a review!! We got to the side gate early and so we were one of the first to enter the Darwin centre.. bags check we were sorted in to teams.. from there were were shown to our sleeping section, ours was upstairs (it was very warm in the hintze hall!!) We could choose where to sleep, we found an alcove and set up our self inflating mats (a must) and sleeping bags.. we met our neighbours for the night and then set off on the activities. First up was a fun talk with a scientist who unraveled everything I thought was true about dinosaurs.. then came snack time.. lots of clever parents took pot noodles or cuppa soups.. l literally took crisps and fruit! Next up we went to meet Dippy and T-shirt designing was the task, after that activity it was a touch light invertigation.. then as the weariness of the day was setting in (it was about 11.15pm at this point) there was a final little bedtime story and then it was bed time.. I expected a rough night but actually I think everyone was shattered and so quickly fell asleep, I was woken by the odd snoring person but nodded off again. Morning came and everything was packed away and breakfast was had.. it consisted of a pain au chocolate and a apple juice.. We then had an activity sheet and full rein of the museum. It was absolutely brilliant! Very well organised and friendly staff.. everyone was very welcoming. We cannot fault our experience.. well maybe the stinky toilets could have been less stinky but other than that we had the most amazing time! Thank you to all involved
Nature is always the best show every where in the world, and London provides an amazing experience of it. The Museum of Natural History, which is a gorgeous building itself, gives the sense of how powerful has always been the evolution of life on our Planet Earth. Starting from the giant dinosaur overwhelming above your head as soon as you step inside, to the wonderful collections of prehistoric animale and flower and stones, beautifully displayed in a mystich atmosphere. The entrance is free, but there is a chance to leave a 5 pound contribution, which is almost due considering the wonderful experience one can enjoy there. A must-see, and for sure a must-remember!
