The 'whole' experience was amazing. I loved hearing the stories on the audio/visual guide as I went around the museum. Listening to John singing as I walked in the garden. Hearing from volunteer/staff member Patrick about the history of Strawberry Fields, why the gates inside are positioned where they are. Walking the labyrinth and thinking & feeling the peace of the garden. What a special place 🤗😁🥰

The view for many years was a pair of red gates and an overgrown wasteland, the result of someone with the world's greatest lack of foresight, taking the sacrilegious decision to demolished the magnificent old building, rather than restoring it for posterity. Fortunately the wasteland has been cleared and the new visitor centre stands in place of the old house. The grounds are pleasantly landscaped, though considerably smaller than they used to be; much of the original space having been used for housing development. The new centre has some excellent Beatles memorabilia, much of it on loan but of great interest and importance. The work that the centre is doing, is also admirable and vitally important in giving those less fortunate, hope and opportunity by developing skills and capabilities. The iconic gates, are in fact replicas, the original ones having been stolen. They were however retrieved and now reside in a shady corner of the garden. There is a pleasant cafe, where you can have a drink and a bite to eat before stocking up with souvenirs from the gift shop.

An excellent experience, 1 of the best tours we have done. the staff where very helpful. the media tour is easy to use. very informative tour, not purely about John Lennon, but about the area since the 1800s. Highly recommend it, the toasted tea cake was delicious too!!

What a amazing and inspiring place to visit! We are big Beatles fans but the visitor experience gave us so much more than just the origins of the song. The experience also explained the work the Salvation Army are doing for the young people of the area, giving them confidence and ultimately a real future was the real treat here. There is much here the see for the Beatle fan too. Being close to the piano that John played for the recording of Imagine was fantastic as was seeing the original hand written Strawberry Field lyric notes that John wrote in Spain. The staff were so kind and helpful, with smiling faces and the cafe served us with a lovely fresh lunch at very good prices. Even the gift area had high quality products with much of the clothing is manufactured and designed in Liverpool! The guided walk around the garden with inspiring quotes from John’s songs was very well done and the original gates are there to be seen. The original house had to be demolished years ago but what is now there is a credit to the Salvation Army and the wonderful people of Liverpool. I think John would be proud. Thank you so much for looking after us and making the trip so special.

We visited Strawberry Field on Wednesday 25 August, phoned beforehand to ask about a visit, spoke with Susie who was extremely helpful. On the day of our trip we were given a really warm welcome, Susie had prebooked a table for lunch which was really thoughtful. The prayer gardens were beautiful and we did the Beetles experience. The café and food was excellent and well worth the money. We would like to commend Helen for all her help during our visit, she went out of her way to ensure a great day for us. All in all we cannot recommend Strawberry Fields enough. Thank you Anne.
