The instructor said we were to late for the mantra rays(we’ll leave earlier). No lunch provided. First 2 sights were poor for snorkelling. Last 2 sights there were more fish to snorkel with. driver was excellent.
This was a lot of travelling (taxi, ferry, speedboat) for not so much snorkling and no manta rays. Basically there was too much swell for snorkling in general and definitely for the manta ray spot. When we came there the guide was saying something like: yeah you can go in here but you will not see them today. The boat was bounching up and down and swimming was challenging. We went to 2 other spots that were a bit better but not great. Generally the guide did not seem to know a lot about snorkling and if the conditions are not suitable to snorkle at a certain day they should not take you there. Aldo no enthusiasm or effort made to make the best of the conditions. Overall all the travelling was a bit messy as well. There was not enough snorkling gear initially and splitting the groups over the boats was also very unorganised. Is this even the right season for this trip?
Didn’t see a single manta ray was told it’s about a 90% chance of seeing them. Trip was also cut short because of strong current. If your not a strong swimmer wear a vest.
