BEWARE - We booked boat "M77" for an 8-hour private trip from Sanur to Nusa Penida for snorkelling. I won't review the logistics because they pale in comparison to the main issue which is that when you hire one of these boats, know that the crew do not have the knowledge, experience or safety training required to safely select snorkelling destinations, nor to monitor you when you are in the water. During the day, we stopped at Manra Bay. We snorkelled and SUP'd. We were not supervised by the crew. (we were 15 guests and a crew of 5). The next place we stopped was quite crowded with other snorkellers who were all snorkelling relatively close to the beach. Our inexperienced captain anchored on the edge of the bay, right in the worst possible area for rips and currents. After handing out snorkelling gear (not enough for all us us - only 11 sets), people got in the water. Several, without fins, snorkels or masks, and were immediately swept away by the current. 10 of us got into difficulty. The entire time, the crew, who were preoccupied with chatting and smoking, were oblivious to the situation, which became so bad that several of us were minutes from drowning. Several people were swept out into deep water, 2 of us were stuck in a whirlpool rip and the entire time, myself and others were screaming for help, waving arms and yelling. thankfully, other, more alert boat captains saw us and came to rescue us. It took 3 other boats to rescue us all. At no time did the crew from our boat help. They were completely clueless. While I can't speak for all of the crews who tend these boats, I want anyone who gets on these boats to know that your safety is not the crew's paramount concern. They are not paying attention to you. Please proceed with absolute caution and check the current before entering the water, especially if you have young children with you. Our situation was moments from turning catastrophic and I will never again undertake a trip like this. The rest of the trip was fine - not amazing but OK. We were all so shaken by the experience it was hard to enjoy the rest of the day. Please - book with caution.

The private boat trip was amazing! We were able to have as much (or as little) at each snorkelling spot as we wanted. A few people in the group also wanted to fish and everyone managed to catch at least one fish! The communication with the company was super easy over Whats App and they always responded quickly. Highly recommend, would book again with them.

Great experience super friendly. Notes: - Guide speaks English but not much. - They do not have snorkel fins for larger feet.

Me and my partner enjoyed a fun private day trip with Putra and his crew to Nusa Panida. We stopped at a couple of snorkelling ateas and even went fishing during that 8 hour trip. The fish we caught were then cooked up at a restaurant we stopped at for lunch in the afternoon for just 180K IDR. Snacks/bottles of water/ towels were included as well as all fishing/snorkelling gear. Unfortunately we didn’t see any manta ray but we did see a turtle on our last dive which was great. Only reason for not giving 5 stars in the boat could do with a bit of TLC and the listing could do with some more detail what’s included, we took a leap of faith with the booking but overall pleased with the trip.
