Seen from the Bosphorus cruise, the Bosphorus coastline on the European side resembles a string of villages, each with their own individual character and attractions, and indeed that’s just what it was. Located between down-to-earth Beşiktaş and chichi Kuruçeşme, Ortakoy does what its name suggests and positions itself somewhere in the middle (orta köy means ‘middle village’ in Turkish).

The Bosphorus Bridge is one of two bridges that spans the Bosphorus Strait, connecting the European and Asian sides of Istanbul. It stretches from Ortakoy on the European side to Beylerbeyi on the Asian side and is sometimes referred to as the First Bosphorus Bridge.

Rumeli Castle (Rumeli Hisarı) is an Ottoman fortress dating to 1452. It was built by Ottoman sultan Mehmed II (Mehmed the Conqueror) in preparation of the conquest of Constantinople. The castle is situated on the shore of the Bosphorus Strait at its narrowest point with approximately 660 meters.

Completed in 1857, the structure took the place of a two storey timber palace built during the reign of Mahmud I (1696–1754) by his Grand Vizier Divittar Mehmed Pasha, then successively used by Selim III (1761–1808) and Mahmud II (1785–1839).

Pass By: Beylerbeyi Palace, Abdullahaga Cad., Istanbul Turkey

Described by some as a miniature Dolmabahce Palace but without the crowds, the Beylerbeyi Sarayı (Beylerbeyi Palace) was commissioned by Sultan Abdülaziz to act as an imperial summer residence. With 24 rooms, 6 halls, and a hamam, it would have been quite the summer home, and was also used to entertain visiting dignitaries.

Booked this on La Vacanza Travel after reading all good the reviews but found the yacht, the snacks served and the service below par. The yacht was not a luxury yacht at all ! And the food served I think would have had better presentation and quality in a 2 star restaurant. The amazing views did not look so amazing after this. Our disappointment resulted in us taking another similar sunset cruise from another vendor which was amazing - perhaps what this cruise should have been. What’s more the other cruise had all the bells and whistles luxury all came at a lower price!! I am more disappointed at La Vacanza Travel as I think they are the ones who should be auditing their vendors as to whether these are as per their claim as it is La Vacanza Travel’s reputation on the line. I hope La Vacanza Travel publishes this review and takes action. These kind of happenings just leave a bad taste in the mouth for your customers who trust what you write on your website

Thanks to the team. They were excellent especially Jara who served us drinks and snacks . He always seen to it that we had something to drink and eat. The views were amazing and we managed to take lots of lovely photos. Almost 3 hours of cruise on both shores of the bosphorus, Really worth it ! Our only regret is that there was no comments on the tour about the different places we passed. Don’t hesitate book this trip they pick you up and drop you off at your hotel.

My husband and I booked this sunset cruise on the Bosphorus Straight through Trip Advisor. Booking was smooth and communication with the organizer was smooth. Questions that I asked prior to arrival were quickly answered. On the day of the cruise I confirmed pick up time with a message and received a phone call and a message, which was nice. They were running just a few minutes behind to pick, but called and sent me a live up date of their location to show that they were indeed approaching. I really appreciate that type of attention to detail. We were picked up in a mini bus van. The driver and organizer were both friendly and welcoming. We were a group of about 20. It is advertised as small group. I had a different idea about small, like 10 or less, but it did not note what was "small group" in the information provided on Trip Advisor. The boat was nice. There we benches for sitting and chairs. It was comfortable. People spread out on the boat and we were able to distance. There was music playing and they had a variety of genres. We were served light treats including fruit, pastries, juice, tea, they offered wine to those who drank. The fare was appropriate for what it was. It was just ok, but they gave enough of it. The men working the boat were attentive, they checked in a lot to see if we needed pictures, more tea and if we were having a good time. We were. It is a lovely way to see more of Istanbul and to enjoy time on the water. They worked hard to create a pleasant atmosphere. My only complaint was the bathroom. It was not filthy, but not nice. The toilet seat was in the floor and it didn't flush for me. Go ahead of time. Overall great time, the organizers were efficient and attentive. The views were lovely. The breeze on the boat was great. The food was ok but plentiful. The music was fun. It was worth it.
