The Giftun Islands are two islands in the Red Sea near Hurghada in Egypt. Giftun Kebir or Big Giftun is located further west and closer to Hurghada. Giftun Soraya or Little Giftun is further east.

The half day boat trip with Egypt boats was the highlight of our holiday! We booked online through WhatsApp beforehand and as promised they kept us up to date with what would happen on the day. Driver picked us up from the hotel and took us to the Marina where we boarded our lovely (and pretty fast!) speedboat. Unfortunately we had a delay in leaving the harbour due to police security checks (nice to know they are ensuring your safety) but OMG it was so worth the wait. (and they made up for the delay by giving us extra time at the end) We sped along the sea and within 15 minutes were right by a pod of dolphins. They literally swam under the boat, quite magical to watch them. There were a couple of other small boats nearby and a family braver than ours even managed to snorkel alongside them briefly. When the kids got bored of watching the dolphins we were taken to a sandbank in the middle of the sea. Like a desert island, it was beautiful! We chilled and collected shells and just generally took in the beautiful scenery. On the way back we all got to drive the boat. The kids absolutely loved it, so much so I had to have a go too! Then back at the harbour a man (assuming the boss) came and checked we had had a good time and no issues then we paid. We are a family of four with kids age 6 and 8, who can be quite unpredictable. I was a bit apprehensive about taking them on the boat but we had such a magical day, so glad we took a punt on Egypt boats! Lastly shout out to Mogli our guide and our captain (forgot his name, sorry) just generally really nice guys, made sure we had fun and great with the kids. Thank you, Jones family

Lovely trip. We saw dolphins and got to swim with them. 2 snorkelling stops which were beautiful and a stop at a sandbar which was amazing. Captain and guide were both great.

Communication via What’s App with Albert was great, he was responsive and helpful and very clear on what we was included. The Thunder Speed boat was great the captain and guide were great with the kids and managed to find a family of Dolphins for us to see up close. Thank you for your efforts.

Booking process was simple - price was very competitive. Great communication from local provider. Driver & guide very friendly & helpful. Saw dolphins, snorkelled & visited islands. Water & snacks provided. Would highly recommend- safe, reliable & enjoyed by us & our 5 year old son. Thank you for making amazing memories!
