Overview

We start from your hotel lobby and head straight to Lo Wu border by a local train, the central suburb of Shenzhen. From there, we will head to the high levels to observe the whole city and also to explain to you the city and southern China's developments. Then, we will head to the local shopping district of Dongmen where the most popular local hangout is visiting local street food vendors and checking out what locals get up to from late afternoon and their shopping habbit and an overview of local retail markets. We will then take a subway to head over to the financial districts to go up to one of the tallest observatory decks in the world the Ping An Finance Centre. Breath-taking views at 1956ft on the 118th floor is something when 14 million people is under your feet. We will then head back down to see one of the biggest underground malls in China watching how local commute home and a dinner at the mall before riding the High Speed Rail back to Hong Kong.

What Can You Expect?

Begin your private full-day tour by meeting your guide at the Hong Kong cruise terminal or the lobby of your centrally located hotel. You'll head straight to Lo Wu, the central suburb of Shenzhen, located in southern China. Travel between attractions by taxi and public transportation, or upgrade your tour with the convenience of a private vehicle and driver (including fuel) to maximize your time.

Your guide will explain the history of the city while you learn facts and figures about its regional development and snap photos of panoramic city views. In the afternoon, travel to Overseas Chinese Town to purchase lunch (own expense).

Look out at the Chinese Folk Culture Village and Window of the World theme park from the monorail. Other noteworthy sights include the highest observation point in the city, the bustling streets of Dong-Men, and the Lo-Wu shopping district where you'll find bargains. Perhaps visit a middle-class suburb to see how the locals live and gain an understanding of daily life. Your guide will offer recommendations for a customizable itinerary.

Conclude with the return to Hong Kong and drop-off at your hotel or the cruise port.

This truly is the greatest, the fastest and the tallest day tour. Shenzhen was farmland not long ago and in 30 plus years became the 3rd largest city in China, with the second most skyscrapers in the world with the 5th tallest building in the world, and a bullet train to Hong Kong which takes a mere 13 minutes. Jacky expertly guided us on a full day of exploration of this new modern city. Once we arrived via train from Hong Kong, we chose to walk from one site to the next but if we were not up for the walking, Jacky could have ferried via taxi. We explored lively open air markets, massive underground malls, a flower festival at Lianhuashan Park, the Civic Center and 2 observations decks including the Ping A building that have 360 views of this impressive city. We highly recommend this tour with Jacky and his company, This Is Asia Tour. Jacky is very knowledgeable and customized the tour to our interests. You do need a China Visa which increases the cost but was very worth it for us.
