2. Farming area and Agricultural area to visit village farmers who cultivate and use Ancient Irrigation Systems . Paddy and Chenna cultivation including local vegetable growing, Banana Plantations etc
3. Mahapelassa Hot Water Springs – bathe in Warm spring healing waters and have a relaxing break on route.
4. Ramba Temple – Ancient Buddhist Temple 2500 years old
5. Walawe Dam – Major Southern Irrigation site 1889 developed during British Times
6. Liyangastota – Unique Mangrove area and protected Virgin forest in Dry Zone Area

    Shocker!.. I’ve just left 3 excellent 5 star reviews of other trips on our cruise however this was a shocker! Guide was lovely but knew nothing. Drafted in I guess. No villages seen!..Stopped at supermarket!.. Stopped at locations guide knew nothing about. A field. A dam. A budda on a steep hill. Stopped at her local restaurant which we didn’t ask for!. A total waste of our time and money. 😡. Fuming. Wouldn’t use again and can’t recommend. Not cheap either. Wouldn’t recommend this trip. 😩

    Sam was an excellent professional tour guide. We had a truly local experience, met tomato, eggplant, coconut, mango, papaya, pepper, beans, squash and corn farmers who were very gracious and eager to share their skills and way of life. Sam has a marvellous and respectful relationship with them that really enhanced our experience. We highly recommend Sam’s Tours to anyone who wants to see the real Sri Lanka.
