The Wilderness Express was an awesome experience. The design and operation of the dome cars provided for outstanding viewing of the landscape while traveling. The dining room food was quite tasty and the staff was friendly and very organized. I highly recommend Wilderness Express as it is a higher level of comfort and service than alternative train services available.
We made the entire trip over two weeks from Fairbanks to Seward via rail Road. The Fairbanks to Denali was great as we saw the countryside and mountains we made friends with people on the train. We picked the gold star service and it was well worth it with the passenger car that you could view all the mountains through the domed glass above, as well as in the dining car area. The staff was very service, oriented and friendly. It was easy to move about. If you were going to Alaska, going by railroad is the best way to see the most on board. The conductor and tour guides went out wildlife along the way and important points of interest that you can’t get via The Highway in a tour bus
We booked the sightseeing car with the glass top canopy. We were with a group of 43 people and they seated us all together. The breakfast served on the train was very good. Our wait staff and tour guide Jade was amazing. She pointed out the highlights during our journey. We were also treated to seeing some Alaska wildlife. Coming into Denali the sights were amazing!
This train ride was fantastic! This trip was included in a land tour prior to our AK cruise. The train was 2 level, the bottom was a great dining car and the upper level was a glass dome car with amazing views of the AK tundra and the Denali range as we approached Denali National Park. The breakfast they served was very tasty, and the drinks served were so good!!! As for the scenery, that was absolutely
What an amazing experience. We rode in the Gold Star car and the service was great. They were very attentive and the conductor was also amazing. He spent alot of time with us going over the history of the railway as well as his time onboard the last 49 years. The food was pretty good for what you would expect for a train. We felt it was very easy to navigate getting on and off, as we rode the railroad two days in a row.
