Hatta is an exclave of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, high in the Hajar Mountains. The restored, centuries-old Hatta Heritage Village features a defensive tower, stone houses with palm-frond roofs, and falaj, the traditional water system. Other exhibits include traditional weapons, furniture and crockery. At the nearby Hatta Dam, the Hatta Reservoir Visitor Point overlooks the pools of striking green water.

Everything was closed. The heritage Centre was closed the kayaking was closed (we could have waited 3 hours for the kayaking to reopen but there was nothing g to do) the driver knew it was going to be this way, I tried to salvage the trip by asking for a new tour to Abu Dhabi grand mosque, I was refused, I was told the mosque is closed on Tuesday (this is a lie). Took 2.5 hours to drive there and then 2m5 back taking a whole day of our holiday to do nothing. Such a shame. It would have been good if it had been open, the dam for kayaking looked beautiful and the heritage Centre could be fantastic but it was CLOSED and they knew. The trip needs to be taken down. The driver tried to say en route like 1 hour in that the heritage center previously had maintenance, which was obviously cover for when we got there and nothing was happening. Trip advisor take this down !

The tour was not what I expected. The trip to Hatta was too long. Our driver spoke very little, he did not explain what is expected of the tour. We drove 2hrs to Hatta, we had one hour of kayaking, and that was it. We stopped at a place that was supposed to be a museum, but all the doors were locked. Then we stopped at another place for which the activity was just to climb up the hill top via ascending stairs. That was it. Then we embarked on another long drive back.

We reserved the tour and got online confirmation with email and online tickets. The next morning we were waiting at designated location in front of Residence Inn Jadaff, on of the locations where they pick tourists up. Our pickup time was at 9:00am. We were waiting there since 8:30am and I sent them a whatsapp to confirm that we would be picked up. No confirmation or message on their behalf. We waited till 9:30, during which time I called them 6 times and left them multiple messages. I received no response, their phone doesn´t work. Needless to say, we have not received the service we paid for. Very upset. I´m waiting full my full refund. Absolutely unacceptable.

Great trip for those looking to enjoy some natural scenery and gorgeous mountains. Kayaking was definitely the highlight of the trip, the parks were lovely and peaceful, but sadly the village itself was closed for renovation. Our only problem was that the tour coordinator informed us that he would pick us up an hour earlier than the timing on the agenda and had us sitting in the hotel lobby waiting, only for him to arrive an hour later for pick up. But other than that the trip was smooth sailing, albeit in a car that was a bit worn out. Definitely bring your sunscreen, it's very sunny even in winter

Timely pickup by Mr Khan and had pleasant chat along the way to Hatta. Got to know more about Dubai and Hatta. Mr Khan gave us ample time to walk around Hatta which was good as some tours can get bit rushed. Pleasant getaway from the skyscrapers after 8days in Dubai.
