Roar through the desert in your modified Jeep Wrangler and negotiate the dunes on an exciting 5.5-hour self-drive desert safari from Dubai. This is a pure driving experience that is safe for the whole family. While following your guide in his own jeep and listening to his instructions on the supplied walkie-talkie you will learn to bash the dunes, drift, traverse sandy terrain, and conquer the high dunes of Fossil Rock just as the sun begins to set over the UAE. We supply professional photos of your experience at no cost. You will see wild life and enjoy stunning views as you go. Upgrade to allow two people to drive, if you wish. We stay away from the regular safari camps and the touristy gimmicks and focus on the pure excitement of the drive.

What Can You Expect?

Itinerary

A high thrill but safe activity for the whole family. Hands on deflating the tires, using walkie talkies, learning the driving techniques and applying them in real time. You will self drive your own rented 4x4 jeep wrangler through, around, and over the dunes while viewing some of the most beautiful scenery the UAE has to offer. The climax is the climb to fossil rock and viewing the vast red sand desert dunes. From time to time during your experience you may have the opportunity to mingle with the deserts wild life. From dune bashing to drifting this is a hands on driving experience with a mixture of excellent photo opportunities that the whole family, yes even your young kids will love and remember for a lifetime.

Excellent self drive safari trip into desert. Lots of fun and David was a great instructor. Highly recommended for an alternative to the usual camel/bedouin trips that was loads more fun!

Absolutely amazing experience!! Did the experience as a solo traveller and thoroughly enjoyed myself. This is the best way to see the desert. Dune bashing is easy to get a hang off and extremely fun. I had an amazing guide, Kevin, who also gave precise instructions, making it very easy. Highly recommended!

This is a well organised activity from the very beginning off-road zone was in contact with me quick via WhatsApp sending documents needed and nearer the time sent videos to watch showing you what to expect etc. On the day they were in contact informing who was picking me up and arrived on time in vehicle I would be driving and took me to there premises a brief rundown of controls and paperwork and we were off. As an experienced off-roader albeit on mud not sand I wanted a move advanced driving in dessert and was sceptical if I would enjoy this trip but took the chance and glade I did. The guide David was very friendly really knew his stuff and once he taught us some tips for driving in sand he took us on a great trip into the dunes increasing the difficulty as we went luckily there was only two cars on the trip plus instructor so gave plenty of driving time and because we both took to the sand quickly got a lot out of the experience. It did feel like a real dessert drive like you would see on YouTube etc not a tamed down trip for tourist. The jeep was in immaculate condition really well looked after, the people were great so was the dessert. My only criticism and that’s not with off-road zone it’s with Dubai traffic. The first 30 min of driving is very chaotic in busy traffic trying to keep in convoy Is difficult even for someone that is a confident driver and only three vehicles in the group. As a suggestion maybe have satnav in jeeps or even allow the drivers to have destination on the phone just so they have better idea when coming to exits etc would help a foreigner not use to the country a lot. If I’m ever in Dubai again this is top of my list to do again and usually I’m not one to do same thing twice neither do I write many reviews but felt Offroadzone staff and the experience deserve it. I’ve said experience a lot because it is it’s more than just a activity to get money out of tourist you do and soon forget it’s something you will remember forever and a lot of organisation gone into it. Everything is done in house by a small group of people. Thanks everyone at off-road zone
