We had a great experience and our guide Miko knew the area very well. His knowledge of the hutong was amazing as was the range of local food we got to sample.

We had a great time with Lucy on the Beijing food tour. We got to try a wide variety of interesting Chinese dishes, and had the option to be as brave as we wanted to be, without any pressure to eat anything we didn't want to. Lucy was a lot of fun to be with, she has excellent English and is an empathetic and highly knowledgeable host. We really enjoyed wandering around old Beijing with her, exploring the Hutongs, learning about the history and culture as well as the food. We highly recommend this tour and Lucy as a guide.

Originally had another tour booked but was told if I was the only traveler at the start time then they would not proceed. I booked this tour after canceling said previous tour thinking there were more people on this one and not being told otherwise. To my surprise I was the only one and the tour still went along! My tour guide Lucy was amazing!! She was so informative and kind. We had such good food and Lucy was so considerate of my likes and dislikes but overall an amazing tour!!

Our food & hutong tour with Lucy was one of the highlights of our short 4-day stay in Beijing. From the get-go she was very attentive to our questions and flexible with our dietary needs. All the while she made sure to chose for us a generous selection of foods/dishes that represented China’s diverse culture. Each person in our group had their favorite dishes — but all the foods featured very unique flavors. Lucy’s knowledge of the hutong neighborhood was impressive and made our tour more enjoyable than just a simple food tour. Instead of going to a restaurant for an evening, I’d highly recommend you take this tour and get generously fed samples of many different authentic, local foods!
