It is the highest bulding on the Square which was built within only 10 month and was completed in 1959.

A memorial hall built for Chairman Mao one year after his pass-away in 1977.

It was erected in 1951 to commerate millions of soldiers who died for the revolutionary casue of the Chinese people.

Then walk north to the Forbidden City, the place where the Ming and Qing Emperors resided for more than 500 years. It is the largest and best-preserved Imperial Palace in the world. You will visit some of the imporant places like:

It is the south and main entrance to the Forbbiden City. Ming and Qing emperors believed that the Meridian Line went right throught the gate.

The largest wooden structure in China and the most important place in the Forbidden City where the Emperor used to work and hold important ceremonies.

The name of this hall indicates maintaining the harmonious relationship between things. It was used for banquets and later for imperial examinations, which was under the supervision of the emperor.

The Inner Court of the Fordden City used to serve as the living quarter for the Emperor while the outer court was the working place.

Located in the northern part of the Forbidden City, the Imperial Garden contains more than 20 different types of buildings, pavilions, terraces, towers and rockeries. Also, there are four pavilions in the garden, symbolizing the four seasons in a year.

After lunch in a local non-tourist restaurant, drive around 1.5 hours to see Great Wall at Mutianyu, one of the most beautiful sections of Wall in Beijing and less touristy.
