Lily was a fantastic guide - she took us through the local market and introduced us to everything from sweets to Chinese fruits, various meats, dumplings, and spices. It was truly a fabulous night! She was friendly, knowledgable, and incredibly informative. This is a great activity to do at the beginning of the trip to introduce yourself to the various cuisine that China has to offer. Highly recommended!

We had a great dinner walk with Lily on the first night of our arrival in Beijing. We did the Street food tour, which we figured would help introduce us to Chinese foods we had not considered, and take us to restaurants we would likely not walk in to otherwise. This all turned our better than expected - we walked through the food market initially, and picked up some fruits and fried dough items (Chinese pancakes) that were delicious. Then we stopped in at a small very plain-looking shop for some delicious Jian Bing (another rolled pancake) and went on to a wonderful dumpling restaurant for a variety of dumplings. Lastly we stopped in a place serving "burgers" but not the beef kind (i'll leave this for a surprise). It was unusual, but tasty. Overall - 5 stars, i'd definitely do it again. Lily was an excellent hostess, she was enthusiastic about the food and definitely forthright and knowledgeable about Chinese city life and history. She was great at helping carry the conversation along, and also knowing when to move locations as we filled our bellies (and we did fill our belllies - no need to eat before this!) Thanks for the great experience Lily!

A fabulous experience being introduced to the treats of Beijing. Our guide (I’ve forgotten her name - 15 Sep) was very knowledgeable and made the experience enjoyable. From the treats in the markets...loving the Beijing pancakes, dumplings and the donkey meat hotdogs, there was so so much food. Make sure you don’t have lunch! Thank you UA, always make the best day ever!
