After being collected from your hotel in Bath you will be driven to the village. Your tour will start with a walking tour of the village. Your guide grew up in a village around Bath and so can give you a good insight into English village life. After your walk around the village you will have a guided walk through the surrounding countryside where you will be shown some unusual historical features.

At the end of the tour there is time for a quick refreshment in the village pub before returning to your hotel in Bath.

Our excursion with Daniel happened to coincide with one of those lovely named winter storms (Dennis, in our instance). It was a chilly day with a more than adequate supply of horizontal rain showers, but we had an absolutely fantastic time. I was impressed that Daniel even scouted our planned trip a day in advance, to be sure that all roads would still be passable and we would be safe. The guy is just plain cool, and could hold the attention of a very distracted young couple or a group of older travelers who are not easily impressed. Beyond Daniel's demeanor, and the tour itself (what a beautiful, quiet, pristine village!) I was also impressed by his deep well of knowledge. I consider myself to be quite the amateur historian, and Daniel told me so much throughout the day that I had never known. Bath is an absolutely beautiful area. But I always considered it to me a place that we would visit once, see a few of the sights, and then check it off the map and head onward to the next location. Daniel made our trip so exceptional that we will be returning sometime in the next year or so, to see what else Daniel (and Bath) have to offer. I could not recommend him any more highly.

After reading reviews here, I contacted Dan to book our tours. He was very responsive, and worked with me to arrange an itinerary over two days. Our two days with Dan went off without a hitch. We brought our sons who are 10 and 11. He kept their interest and had a great sense of humor. He is very knowledgeable about the area and history. We had a great time, and I would not hesitate to recommend him.
