Stop At: Lumpini Park, Rama 4 Road Wangmai, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330 Thailand

Lumpini Park is an inner-city haven of tranquility, fresh air and shade - offering city dwellers the perfect connection to nature. Named after the birthplace of the Lord Buddha in Nepal, the park is more than half a million square metres big, and the habitat of various flora and fauna. Historically, it dates back to the 1920s and was set to be an exhibition centre for Thai crafts and flower displays. Although this original vision was never fulfilled, Lumpini Park has over the years grown into the endearing centre for outdoor leisure activities for Bangkokians, who would convene before and after sunset to enjoy a round of jog, light workout, aerobics and a host of other recreational activities.

Duration: 15 minutes

Pass By: Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, 60 New Rachadapisek Road, Bangkok 10110 Thailand

Queen Sirikit National Convention Center or also known simply as Queen Sirikit Convention Center, is a convention center and exhibition hall in Bangkok, Thailand. The center is regarded as a public asset according to the Thai Ministry of Finance's Treasury Department. However, it has been managed by N.C.C. Management & Development Co., Ltd., a private firm, since its opening in 1991. The QSNCC was built to host events, especially conferences and exhibitions and has hosted numerous international events. The QSNCC is also home to the Plenary Hall, a theatre style hall, which has a capacity of 6,000 persons.

Stop At: Khlong Toei Market, Rama IV Road Khlong Toei, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110 Thailand

One of Bangkok’s best-kept secrets is Khlong Toey Fresh Market, a chaotic, sprawling food market. It’s a travel photographer’s dream, packed with market vendors offering live produce, fresh fruit and vegetables and cooked local dishes. Eye-opening and enthralling, it’s a great insight into how locals live – and to where your moo manow really comes from.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Benjakitti Park, Ratchadapisek Road next to Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Bangkok 10110 Thailand

Benjakiti Park, a spec of green amongst Sukhumvit’s high rise hotels and office blocks, is one of Bangkok’s most popular parks, offering a haven for joggers, cyclists and anyone in need of a quick escape from the big bad city. The park is dominated by a sizeable lake, and the two separate lanes around the perimeter have been designed specifically for segregated cycling and jogging (which for many, is more like walking thanks to the unrelenting evening heat). The water’s edge is also nicely framed by some pretty, well-maintained plant life and colourful flowers adding to the tranquility.

Duration: 15 minutes

I think it's the best way to explore Bangkok (half day ride only) from a local's perspective and on a bicycle. We rode through the morning rush hour with street vendors selling breakfast along the pedestrian walkway, visit a local buddhist temple, in between squatter homes and villages. Unconventional local spots and parks where tourists would not know where to go. Drinks and lunch is included in the package and we rode at our own pace. Recommended 100%.

I was staying in Silom near Chong Nonsi BTS. I booked the Bangkok City Culture tour with Thailand biking after seeing a video of them on the Global Travel Mate u tube channel. It included riding along the elevated bikeway between Benchakitti Forest Park and Lumphini Park. Which I wanted to see. There were 4 of us and a guide on this tour. After being kitted out with helmets and bikes we set off. I wasn't comfortable with the upright style of bike on offer. So asked and was given a mountain bike (a Merida). One that I was more familiar with. The bikes were all of excellent quality. The tour had a bit of everything. We cycled through Bangkok traffic which I found daunting at first but as we progressed got used to it. Traffic in the city is mainly gridlocked & slow moving which helped. We stopped off at a local temple and had a rest break at Talad Khlong Toei market. Highlight of the trip for me was Cycling through Benchakitti park (gorgeously green) with fabulous bike tracks and then taking the elevated section to Lumphinee. That was fun and traffic free. At various points along the way we got the chance to stop and take pictures. After that it was back through the traffic to the office. The guide we had was very entertaining and knowledgeable. Whenever we stopped he would tell us a brief history of the area while pointing out local landmarks. One small criticism. While we were biking through traffic the guide and the first rider got away from us (the last three riders) several times. The distance was about 30 to 40 metres. Eventually noticing that we weren't there they stopped and waited. A small thing but worth mentioning. It was well run and organised. I enjoyed it, had a lot of fun, and plan to come back. Oops, nearly forgot. The staff showed us where to catch The BRT bus from WAT DAN station (just up the street) all the way back to Silom Where you can access the Chong Nonsi BTS. Worth remembering.

We had a great time on the Bangkok full day bike tour. We didn’t realise we were going to see so much. Our guide Bas was friendly, knowledgable and great to be around. Great service and such a fun day. Thank you!

Am, our guide, was extraordinary. Knew the city like the back of his hand, guided us safely, provided history and little known facts, showed us gems within the city. Super cool way to explore Bangkok. Traveled through neighborhoods and experienced street art, food, shops, cafes, people, parks and history. The best Bangkok experience of all which is saying a lot!
