Overview

Visit two of Abu Dhabi’s star attractions – Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan Mosque and the Falcon Hospital – on a full day tour of Abu Dhabi. With a friendly local guide, explore one of the world’s largest mosques while learning all about the late Sheikh Zayed who commissioned the building. See city sights like the Emirates Palace Hotel from the comfort of an air-conditioned coach, and then spend your afternoon enjoying a tour and falconry display at Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital – a sanctuary for the national bird.

Meet your guide in the center of Abu Dhabi and hop aboard your air-conditioned coach to travel to Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan Mosque, or the grand mosque, as it’s more often known.

Head inside with your guide to learn about the vast monument, which is said to be one of the world's largest mosques, and the man after whom it was named. The late Sheikh Zayed is still held in high regard by the people of the United Arab Emirates, and he’s believed to have shaped the city into the dynamic capital it is today.

The interior of the grand mosque is incredible to behold, boasting crystal and gold-plated chandeliers, marble mosaics and the world’s largest Persian carpet. Gaze around at the ornamentation and then explore the expansive main prayer hall, in total 40,000 worshipers can be seated in the impressive mosque.

After exploring inside, return to your coach and travel around the city to see the sights. Stop for photos by the extravagant Emirates Palace Hotel and see Abu Dhabi Corniche – a sweeping sandy waterfront – and the Breakwater where many of the city’s luxury yachts can be found.

Continue to Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital, a working veterinary clinic where the United Arab Emirates’ national birds are treated. The sport of falconry is deeply rooted in the country’s Arabic traditions and culture, and the birds are highly revered, symbolizing force and courage. Learn all about them on a tour of the hospital by one of the trained falcon carers. After exploring the site, walk outdoors to a free flight cage for a closer look at UAE’s national birds live in action.

Have your camera ready for a photo of the birds before leaving, and then return to your coach. Your tour then finishes in the center of town, at the start point.

We were served by Anne, an English speaking tour guide. She was excellent. She was very informative and gave us a lot of information about Abu Dhabi and its places. The Falcon Hospital was very interesting, and I had the opportunity to touch a falcon whilst it was sitting on my arm that was covered by a special glove. The Sheikh Zayed Mosque was truly beautiful and there was plenty of photo opportunity. Anne also gave us some suggestions about where to have dinner or what places to visit on our spare day.

Tour guide was very friendly. Ensured all is on time as scheduled. Falcon Hospital was amazing (we saw live cleaning procedure with falcon under anastesia). The mosque was a wonder. For ladies make sure you're covered and your clothes are not transparent.

The falcon hospital was amazing and the mosque was breathtaking. Definitely good combining these 2 things in the same day. You get to let the Falcons perch on a glove while you pose for pictures.
