Doha airport is beautiful. Well maintained, efficient, spotlessly clean and staffed by polite and helpful people. I've transferred flights here twice, 4 years apart, and have been thoroughly impressed both times. "The Orchard" is a gorgeous, indoor garden area within the airport with relaxing areas to wait between flights. Very special.

There was only 1 option for the cooked breakfast, disappointing. I don’t like cheese so I couldn’t eat the cheesy omelette. My husband did but wasn’t too impressed.

Hamad is a beautiful airport with expensive shops and eateries and it's huge. Qatar airways gains a lot of business as it is a interconnect hub for going all around the world. The issue I see is if your plane lands at a very far away gate then to go transfer is a long arduous process and they are not ready with buggies to support you, nor does it say how far or how many minutes to the transfer desk. I must have walked a mile because it was least 10 mins at a good pace with just a laptop bag. However anyone with rollers or heavier carry on will take longer. Hamad airport does not compare to Changi and Qatar Airways in flight food and quality of service is no way up to par with Singapore Airlines. Like the world cup,money can buy you a world class award. There should be travelators on the way to transit, but there were none. In between the departure gates there are walkable travelators and none here so they tried to penny pinch. The elderly or those with aches or children would struggle to walk the long distance. Hamad airport could do better, Changi has walkways everywhere even to transit.

We had a stopover on 2nd-3rd of March and I didn't get anything to eat in any restaurant in Hamad airport because I have celiac disease. They explained to me that they make everything in same kitchen so they can't promise gluten free dishes. From one restaurant I had a recommendation to go YoSushi -place but they said the same, no gluten free food in anywhere the airport. So be aware if you have this disease, that you take some own food with you or buy something from the little shops nereby. Otherwise the airport was amazing, beautiful and full of everything you can imagine you need.
