You also have the option to have lunch at a city restaurant and shop for some antiques and souvenirs before returning to Kovalam. Overnight at your resort in Kovalam.

  • Kovalam - Alleppey on Houseboat (175 Kms)

The cruise will include lunch, snacks, evening tea and dinner. Typically, the boat travels until sunset when it anchors for the night in Alleppey.

Once used to transport rice bags in the past, these uniquely designed houseboats have become a major tourist attraction in Kerala, being used as a fascinating way to explore the beauty of the backwaters.

Then you will be given a range of leisure options, including Ayurveda massage, sunset cruise or a visit to the bird sanctuary.

If you are a bird lover, you would love to take the tour to the bird sanctuary, which is spread across 14 acres, to see an interesting variety of birds.

Between June and August, the sanctuary sees the breeding season of the resident wetland birds, such as the little cormorants, Indian darters, white ibis, kingfishers and different species of egrets and herons.

Between the months of November and May, there are some rare migratory birds that haunt the region’s woods and bushes, such as pin-tailed ducks, Garganey teals, spot-billed ducks, as well as birds of prey, such as marsh harriers, ospreys and steppe eagles.

After your exploration, you will then spend the rest of the night at your resort at Kumarakom.

  • Kumarakom - Cochin or Kochi (80 Kms)

There are also the giant Chinese fishing nets, which are a sight to behold especially during sunsets, and the world-famous Kathakali dance at a local theatre. After the tour, you will then stay at your hotel in Cochin for overnight.

  • Departure from Cochin

This time, you will depart for the Cochin Airport, still being assisted by La Vacanza Travel representative.

Priyanka Arora Wonderful holiday in God’s own country !

Priyanka Arora

I travelled recently to Kerala with my family. Its truly God’s own country, its a combination of the city life of Cochin and trivandrum, beauty of Munnar hills, Periyar national park, amazing backwaters experience of Alleppey and the beautiful pristine beaches of Kovalam.

It was a most amazing trip of ours till date I would say and this would not have been possible without La Vacanza Travel who organised this memorable trip for us. Starting from comfortable direct flights, best of the hotels, houseboat, good car with a professional knowledgeable driver, everything was very smoothly managed.Thank you to the lovely team…….
