Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India

Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India, It gives me great pleasure to welcome “LA VACANZA TRAVEL (P) LTD” among our friends and partners who have been at the forefront of promoting Uzbekistan among Indian tourists.

Uzbekistan is a country of rich history, which goes deep into the centuries. Names of great statesmen, scientists, thinkers and poets who have made great contribution to the world civilization, as well as ancient cities such as Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva are well known all over the world.

Uzbekistan sees its historical and cultural heritage as a great asset which can give the country invaluable advantage in promoting itself as a popular travel destination and secure its place in the world tourism market.

For over the years of independence, Uzbekistan has been attaching great importance to developing all sectors of its economy, particularly tourism. Along with taking extensive efforts aimed at restoring our historical and cultural heritage we have carried out significant work and invested significant funds in enhancing tourism infrastructure, building modern hotels, highways, improving transport and services sector.
Uzbekistan has more than four thousand ancient monuments most of which have been restored and reconstructed during the years of independence. Created by great ancestors of our nation several centuries ago, these amazing palaces, mausoleums, madrassahs and minarets have been kept to these days and still admire with their greatness. Many of them are included in the UNESCO List of World Heritage.

Uzbekistan attaches profound importance to developing comprehensive relations with India, the country with whom we have been enjoying centuries-long civilizational ties. In India we see our close friend, the nation which gave the world one of the most ancient and amazing civilizations, which has greatly contributed to the development of mankind. The centuries-old historical and cultural ties along with spiritual affinity of our people form the basis of traditionally strong friendly relations, which so happily exist, between our two countries.

In recent years, India has turned into one of the largest partners of Uzbekistan in the sphere of tourism. We attribute this accomplishment to the selfless efforts and enthusiasm of our partners namely “LA VACANZA TRAVEL (P) LTD”.

Tourism now is one of the most important sectors of cooperation between our countries. This very fact was yet again reaffirmed during the State visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov to India on May 17-18, 2011. During the visit, “Uzbektourism” National Company of Uzbekistan and Indian Tourism Development Corporation signed an Action plan on tourism cooperation between the two countries. The document envisions enhancing the cooperation in the area of tourism, including by establishing tourism offices and increasing the number of flights between the two countries.

As for attractiveness of Uzbekistan for Indian tourists in particular one should note that Tashkent is only two and half hours flight from Delhi. Besides, hotel and transport charges are much lower than in other tourist destinations of Asia, Europe and America, while tourists can enjoy the same quality of services. Yet another advantage of Uzbekistan is its wonderful cuisine appreciated by the most particular gourmets.

In conclusion, I am pleased to announce that in 2011 India became our number one partner in tourism with more than 15,000 Indian tourists visiting Uzbekistan.
